Chicago Police have released shocking dashcam footage of a gunman opening fire with an automatic weapon at a traffic light. The video shows two men jumping out of a car then opening fire on a vehicle ahead of them in the city’s Chatham area. One of the gunmen was armed with a fully automatic weapon.
Miraculously, nobody was injured as a result of the shooting. Officials did note that a car and nearby business were damaged.
The shooting was captured by witness Huber Pereznegron, who was behind the red Nissan from which the gunmen exited. Pereznegron told CBS Chicago that he was amazed nobody was killed. “I don’t know what’s going on in their minds. This must be stopped. There were a lot of innocent people around them,” said the witness.
No arrests have been made at this time. The gunmen immediately re-entered the vehicle and fled the scene following the shooting.
