Charles Rosa (-170) vs. Justin Jaynes (+138)
Weight Class: Featherweight (145 lbs)
Both Justin Jaynes and Charles Rosa will be looking to get back in the win column at UFC Vegas 30.
For Jaynes, he will be looking to snap a three fight losing streak. He has been a victim of some tough matchmaking thus far, with losses coming against Gavin Tucker, Gabriel Benitez and Devonte Smith.
Stylistically, he has heavy hands, highlighted by a heavy overhand right. He certainly lets his hands go and secured his only UFC victory by KO.
As for Charles Rosa, he will be looking to bounce back after a loss to Darrick Minner. Rosa was somewhat manhandled on the ground in that fight, which is concerning. The Bostonian has a BJJ black belt and is considered a solid ground fighter, but recent results have been iffy.
All told, Rosa has been around for a long time and tends to go one for one with UFC wins. His last victory came over Kevin Aguilar last June.
Ultimately, it’s hard not to take a flier on Justin Jaynes. All of his recent losses are respectable and I think against Rosa, his power will be able to dictate the pace. I also don’t think that Rosa will be able to secure a take down, but if he can, it could be trouble for Jaynes.
I just don’t see any value in Charles Rosa at -170. He hasn’t been putting a stamp on his fights and I think Jaynes has a much higher power bar. At (+138) it’s tough not to play Justin Jaynes moneyline, while Jaynes by knockout (+380) is certainly worth a flier.
