Mike Perry (+120) vs. Daniel Rodriguez (-142)
Weight Class: Weltwerweight (170 lbs)
Mike Perry has recently switched gyms and also, recently became a father. He seems more measured than ever and talked about having found a renewed purpose earlier this week, which could certainly factor in for this match-up. Outside issues have plagued Perry at times in his career, so these factors could add up. He also recently started training at MMA Masters in Florida, which is where Colby Covington has been training since leaving ATT.
Fight wise, Perry has been wrestling more in recent fights. This could be key against Rodriguez, who is a top notch boxer.
For Rodriguez, a striking rhythm is the key to victory. His jab is elite and he uses it to set up his power shots well. Perry’s defense is suspect at time, so the potential is there to really open up.
Ultimately, I’m leaning Perry. I think that the renewed focus and recent wrestling-heavy game-plan could open up a path to victory. At +120, there’s a-lot of value here. Check out the video below for a more detailed analysis.
Prediction and play: Mike Perry moneyline (+120) + Mike Perry by points (+440)
