Gambling Analysis for the Saturday NFL Wild Card Games

For the first time in NFL history, this postseason will have a total of six Wild Card playoff games. The change was made last offseason to add a third wild card team in each conference as well as only provide a first-round bye to the top team in the AFC and NFC. Changing the playoff format paid off this year as it helped the 11-5 Colts narrowly make the playoffs as the first ever seven seed.

Saturday’s Wild Card matchups bring a lot of uncertainty though with the first ever 2 vs. 7 seed matchup and the Washington Redskins/Football Team hosting a playoff game despite having a 7-9 record and going through four different quarterbacks this year. The most anticipating matchup will be the Seahawks hosting the Rams in their third matchup of the season. Seattle is the favorite (-3) but will not have the usual home-field advantage they play with due to COVID-19.

Anyway, you’re here to find the best player prop for your same game parlay and how to strategize the spread. Take note that the odds are as of 11:00 PM ET on Friday and will not be updated.

Indianapolis Colts at Buffalo Bills (1:05 PM)

The Bills will be hosting their first playoff game in well over two decades and are the hottest team in the NFL at the moment. They are 9-1 in their last ten games with their only loss coming from an end of game Hail Mary in Arizona. Indianapolis brings a solid defense on the road but, can they slow down Josh Allen? Phillip Rivers has plenty of playoff experience which will help in key moments. Indianapolis will keep it close and the under bet at 51.5 is appealing.

SPREAD: Indianapolis +6.5 (-108)

OVER/UNDER: U 51.5 (-115)

Player Props: Zach Moss Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+185)

Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks (4:40 PM)

Los Angeles will be entering the matchup with starting QB Jared Goff questionable to play after having surgery on his thumb just two weeks ago. If Goff is unable to play, this will make a difficult road game for John Wolford. In the two teams previous matchups this season, the total points were under 42.5 for each game. With Goff’s uncertainty to play and high risk of re-injury, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to take the under. The Rams come in with the top defense in the NFL and will certainly put lots of pressure on Russell Wilson.

SPREAD: Seattle -3 (-115)

OVER/UNDER: U 42.5 (-120)

Player Props: Russell Wilson over 22.5 Rushing Yards (-112)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Washington Redskins/Football Team (8:15 PM)

Alex Smith is questionable to play while facing a nagging calf injury. If he is unable to play, Tampa Bay should easily be able to cover the spread. The over/under is a tough call but Washington has not allowed over 20 points in their past seven games. If Smith does play, it could be worth betting the over. The Buccaneers have so many weapons around Brady that it’s tough to pick who will score at any given time. Antonio Gibson is certainly due for a score.

SPREAD: Tampa Bay -7.5 (-120)

OVER/UNDER: U 44.5 (-110)

Player Props: Antonio Gibson Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+150)
