Betting Analysis for the NFL Week 15 Saturday Games

NFL Week 15 will be the first week of the 2020 season to have two Saturday games. Saturday games in December are a common theme in the NFL schedule that dates all the way back to 1952. They tend to only be played during the last few weeks of the season once the college football regular season had concluded.

The two matchups on Saturday in NFL Week 15 will be the Bills playing in Denver against the Broncos at 4:30 PM ET and the Packers hosting the Panthers in Green Bay at 8:15 PM ET. With a win, the Bills would clinch the AFC East while the Packers have already clinched the NFC North but are tied with the Saints at 10-3 for the top seed in the NFC. The NFL changed its playoff schedule this year and now only gives a first-round bye to the top seed in each conference.

Meanwhile, the Panthers and Broncos have struggled for most of the season with injuries as well as COVID-19 outbreaks in the locker room. Carolina has missed star RB Christian McCaffrey for all but three games this year while Denver had to play the Saints in Week 12 without any quarterbacks because of COVID-19 rules regarding contact tracing.

So, let’s get into the betting analysis. Both Buffalo and Green Bay are heavily favored by -5.5 and -7.5 points respectively as of 12:00 PM ET on Friday.

Buffalo Bills at Denver Broncos (4:30 PM)

Despite being on the road, the Bills are favored by 5.5 points to beat Denver. Denver is coming off of a big road win in Carolina while Buffalo handed Pittsburgh its first loss of the season last week on Sunday Night Football. Both Phillip Lindsay and Melvin Gordon III are questionable to play. If one is unable to suit up, this could be a good opportunity for an anytime touchdown scorer prop. Both have a line of +100 to score at anytime. Stefon Diggs is third in the NFL in receiving yards and has an over/under of 82.5 yards for the game which could also be a solid prop bet. Buffalo should be able to get the win but, Denver could keep it within 5.

SPREAD: Buffalo -5.5 (-110)

OVER/UNDER: U 49.5 (-110)

Player Props: Stefon Diggs over 82.5 Receivng Yards (-112)

Carolina Panthers at Green Bay Packers (8:15 PM)

The Panthers have had a disappointing 2020 season and sit last in the NFC South. Christian McCaffrey is listed as doubtful for the game and is dealing with a nagging quad injury (his third different injury this year). Green Bay is on a roll and Aaron Rodgers is quietly in the MVP talks alongside Patrick Mahomes. He is fifth in the league in passing yards but leads in passing touchdowns and has a TD:INT ratio of 39:4. The weather looks favorable for a December in Green Bay with a high of 36 and overcast. Expect Rodgers and the Packers to have a big game.

SPREAD: Green Bay -7.5 (-114)

OVER/UNDER: O 52 (-110)

Player Props: Aaron Rodgers over 293.5 Passing Yards (-112)
