Joe Biden couldn’t remember the name of Mitt Romney, a 2012 opponent

While boarding a plane en-route for an Ohio campaign event, Joe Biden had a tough time remembering the name of Mitt Romney. Biden was asked about Amy Coney Barrett’s Catholic faith and if it should be considered during her confirmation hearing. “You may remember, I got in trouble when we were running against the senator who was a Mormon, the governor,” Biden said to reporters. The former VP was of course referring to Mitt Romney, who ran against Barrack Obama in 2012.

“No, her faith should not be considered. I don’t think there’s any question about her faith,” he then said in response to the question.

Later on in the day, at the Ohio event, Biden stated that he is running for the Senate. “I’m running as a proud Democrat for the Senate,” Biden said. Pro-Trump demonstrators could be heard honking horns in the background of Biden’s speech. The event failed to draw large crowds.

To be fair, I wish I could forget Mitt Romney existed myself.
