Baltimore Ravens QB Trace McSorely has gained fame on the app ‘TikTok’ despite not even being a user of the social media platform. A song about him while he played college football at Penn State began to trend on the app and it has since gained millions of views.
The song called “Trace McSorely” by Matty Fresh was released in August of 2018 and has over 900,000 views on YouTube. Matty Fresh was a student at Penn State at the time and graduated in 2019. You can listen to the full song here:
The original TikTik video was created by @sorley_yt and has 1.1M views. The video was about him adding Trace McSorely to his Madden Ultimate Team and winning games despite McSorely only being a silver-rated card. This led to several verified accounts including the NFL producing videos on the app about McSorely featuring the catchy song.
McSorely has not yet started a game in his NFL career and is third on the depth chart behind Lamar Jackson and Robert Griffin III. He was a three-year starter at Penn State and finished his college career with 9,899 passing yards and 77 touchdowns.
