Clay Higgins (R, Louisiana) delivered an epic speech on Wednesday prior to the House’s vote to impeach President Trump. “I have descended into the belly of the beast. I have witnessed the terror within, and I rise committed to oppose the insidious forces which threaten our Republic,” Higgins began on the House floor.
“America is being severely injured by this betrayal, by this unjust and weaponized impeachment, brought upon us by the same socialists who threaten unborn life in the womb; who threaten First Amendment rights of conservatives, who threaten Second Amendment protections of every American patriot, and who have long ago determined, that they would organize, and conspire, to overthrow President Trump,” Higgins continued.
“We don’t face this horror because the Democrats have all of the sudden become constitutionalists. We’re not being devoured from within because of some, surreal assertion of the socialist’s new found love of the very flag they trod upon. We face this horror because of this map” Higgins stated while pointing to the 2016 electoral map.
“They are deep, establishment D.C. … they call this Republican map “fly-over country”, they call us deplorables. They fear our faith, they fear our strength, they fear our unity, they fear our vote and they fear our President. We will never surrender our nation to career, establishment D.C. politicians and bureaucrats. Our Republic shall survive this threat from within. American patriots, shall prevail” he concluded.
Even if the speech was tiny bit over-dramatic, it’s refreshing to hear someone like Clay Higgins tell it like it is. The time for playing nice with radical, anti-American leftists has long passed. Trump’s impeachment amounts to nothing more than a soft coup, and the weasels pushing it have the audacity to say they’re fighting for justice.
If Nancy Pelosi’s politburo is going to move to disenfranchise millions of Trump voters, then why even engage with them? We need more brash and pro-America representatives like Clay Higgins. America first and unafraid to speak blunt truths, something Higgins has done and then some throughout his career as a Congressman and police Captain…..
