Let’s have a moment of silence. Chick-Fil-A has finally caved to the leftist mob. The company has for years been synonymous with Christian values and delicious fried chicken and has always been very unapologetic about it. Recently however, the famed fast food chain announced that they would stop giving to charities that are considered off limits by the LGBTQ rights crowd, such as the Salvation Army. You know, the organization that helps feed and clothe poor people. Those bell-ringing folks who you give some change to outside of Walmart. The move seems to be part of an attempt for Chick-Fil-A to expand into more left-leaning areas, aka. appease people who care what a company’s politics are.
As I have said in several of my previous pieces, NEVER CAVE TO THE MOB! Chick-Fil-A had gone years of being one of the most successful fast food franchises while not giving in to these far left wing authoritarians. The vast majority of people, regardless of politics, did not and still do not care that Chick-Fil-A has these political stances, yet in order to attempt to expand, they throw out their principles and railroad several charities in the process, just to appease a vocal minority. The precedent being set here is without question a terrible one.
This presents an interesting case study on how and why the left has been successful at fighting culture wars. I know this is one tweet, but it speaks volumes.

Chick-Fil-A is a very well-run business. They know what they are doing from a public relations and marketing perspective. They did not make this decision on impulse. They have to be fairly certain that this move will not cost them much business. I’m complaining about this but guess what? I’ll still eat there because their chicken sandwich is delicious. Very few people will abandon a good product because they don’t agree with a corporate decision (that has absolutely no impact on the product). However, the loudest and craziest people do care about these things, or at least claim to.
When you’re dealing with outrage mobs, you have to remember that these people get their purpose and meaning in life by being outraged. As soon as you take the first step to appease them, it’ll never be good enough. Want proof?
GLAAD's response:
"In addition to refraining from financially supporting anti-LGBTQ organizations, Chick-fil-A still lacks policies to ensure safe workplaces for LGBTQ employees and should unequivocally speak out against the anti-LGBTQ reputation that their brand represents,"

So Chick-Fil-A might get to open a few more restaurants, but the same people who pushed them to disassociate from these charities will begin to push for more, and why wouldn’t they? You won once, might as well keep going. As I said, have we ever seen the radical left satisfied about anything?
Going back to that first tweet, the fact that most people don’t care about these things is why the radical left continues to win culture wars. They largely go uncontested. Sane people of any race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or political party don’t care enough to fight back. On a case by case basis, most of these culture wars have no bearing on mine or anyone else’s ability to enjoy life. Normal, middle of the road Americans have better things to do with their lives than fight online, boycott, and protest. We laugh at these people, but they often affect the change they look to make.
Every time someone caves to the mob, the mob becomes more powerful. How nobody seems to have figured this out is beyond me. It is no different than a parent giving their 2 year old kid ice cream because they won’t shut up. The kid knows he can get what he wants, so he continues to act like a little shit until he gets a piece of chocolate cake with his ice cream. A monster has been created.
I know it has been said time and time again, but it’s true: The radical leftist ideology is for all practical purposes a secular religion. These folks think that it is their moral duty to protest companies like Chick-Fil-A. The fact that someone could dare to stand for traditional values is not acceptable, and is antithetical to their idea of “progress”. The end game is becoming clearer. These people want to re-engineer society to fit their preferences, and people who go along with it are their useful idiots.
In a world where many people try to escape from politics, it’s becoming harder. You’re guaranteed to see commercials, tv shows, movies, etc. pushing some new social justice issue. We’re constantly being lectured to by people who are completely detached from what life is like to most Americans. There’s no longer room for “live and let live”. Tolerance and acceptance isn’t enough. They want conformity of thought, and they play to win.
